37 Rescued from Border Traffickers
37 people were rescued, and one suspect was arrested at the Nepal border.
Traffickers were attempting to lure the victims, including 15 children, out of the country before selling them into brothels, hard labor or other forms of exploitation.
After agents rescued the survivors, they spoke with them about the dangers of border trafficking before returning them safely home. While most survivors choose not to involve law enforcement to avoid social stigma, one brave 16-year-old girl and her family pressed charges against her trafficker! Police arrested the suspect.

Most of those rescued had been forced to sell their bodies just to survive. Others were rescued from sex crimes or being sexually exploited by a human trafficker for money. The youngest was only 9 years old, and three of the survivors were boys. All of the survivors have been enrolled in our Community Care Program, where they’ll learn to maneuver through the trauma they endured and be equipped to live free.
