24 Survivors in Africa on the Road toward Freedom!
24 survivors from Zimbabwe and Kenya are taking their first steps in freedom from exploitation.
All but two of the survivors were children. Most were forced into selling their bodies to survive, but now that they’ve enrolled in our post-rescue programming, our compassionate teams are equipping them to live free.

The kids, who included eight girls and four boys, were rescued from various types of sexual exploitation. Three of the children were being sold for sex by adult traffickers. Three more faced sexual abuse, while another two were forced to sell their bodies just so they could afford food. Four of the kids, all under 11 years old, lived with someone who participated in sex work, putting them at dire risk of exploitation.
Such a wide variety of trauma requires careful, personal help from loving caseworkers. We’re grateful that all of these children are recovering in our local Community Care Program.

The children were all between 14 and 17 years old. All but one had been forced to sell themselves to predators just to be able to afford food and necessities. Those kids entered our Community Care Program to begin their holistic recovery from home. One 16-year-old girl who was sex trafficked entered our Residential Care home so that she could begin her journey into freedom safely.

Tragically, Thailand has become a hotspot for the online sexual exploitation of children, often to Western audiences. These boys, as young as just 8 years old, had been subjected to online sexual exploitation by predators who hurt the kids without ever leaving home.
Fortunately, our expert counter-OSEC team worked with Thai authorities to rescue the boys. The kids have begun their long road to recovery at home with their families. Their trafficker was arrested during the operation.
Boys are a growing segment of trafficked children worldwide. The estimated number of exploited boys quintupled from 2004 to 2020 (while experts still believe this represents gross underreporting), and the rise of online exploitation has only increased the problem.
Because of social stigma and fear of shame, boys are far less likely to report being exploited, earning the moniker “The Silenced Minority.”
We are happy that these eight boys are free, but more are waiting. Help us find them at www.childrescue.org.nz.

A baby and 2 kids are safe from a human trafficker who was exploiting the children online.
The criminal was abusing his nieces online for Western predators, charging as little as $40 per session.
When authorities in the US caught one of his American customers, the Department of Homeland Security worked with Destiny Rescue and the Filipino NBI to take the trafficker down.
The 8-year-old siblings and 1-month-old baby were taken to safety by gentle caseworkers. The trafficker fought officers during the arrest, but was eventually taken into custody.
The kids have a long journey to recovery. But thanks to this joint operation, they’re finally ready to begin new, brighter lives!
