18 Children Rescued from International Traffickers
Eighteen kids were rescued moments before traffickers took them over the Nepalese border.
Our brave border agents stopped criminals from trafficking 66 people, of which 18 were children, out of their home country.
Traffickers often build relationships with their victims for weeks or months before luring them out of the country with the promise of a good job, a better life or even a simple shopping trip.
Over the course of a couple of weeks, our agents stopped and interviewed hundreds of travelers crossing the border to uncover suspicious activity. Thanks to the agents’ courageous efforts, the 66 people rescued will never face the horrors that awaited them.

Most of those rescued had been forced to sell their bodies just to survive. Others were rescued from sex crimes or being sexually exploited by a human trafficker for money. The youngest was only 9 years old, and three of the survivors were boys. All of the survivors have been enrolled in our Community Care Program, where they’ll learn to maneuver through the trauma they endured and be equipped to live free.
