15 Rescued in South Asia

14 girls and one 19-year-old woman rescued from various forms of sex trafficking in South Asia

Our team in South Asia used their wide-ranging expertise to rescue the children and young woman from their abusers. Most of the survivors had been under the brutal control of their traffickers, but one was a victim of rape and another was forced into selling herself just to survive.

Several of the girls were rescued when rescue agents went undercover to offer them a chance at freedom. Agents collaborated with law enforcement to rescue the rest, including one raid that rescued 8 victims.

All of the survivors were returned home (some in other countries) or given a new, safe place to live.

The girls are receiving counseling, food and basic necessities in an emergency shelter while our team helps determine next steps. Investigations are ongoing to identify the traffickers and their network.

After they enroll in our care and enter a Freedom Plan, loving caseworkers will help the survivors navigate the trauma they’ve endured before equipping them with vocational training or their guardians with small businesses so they can become financially independent.

Don’t be afraid to act on your suspicions and report to local authorities; your choice could mean everything for a suffering child.

Beyond the children, four young men were rescued during the operation, a trend we’ve been seeing more of recently. The trafficker was arrested, and all of the survivors are now recovering in a government facility to help them start their new lives in freedom.
