Child Rescue is the New Zealand branch of the Destiny Rescue family, a global network of organisations. At times, we may use ‘we’ and ‘our’ alongside Destiny Rescue to reflect the collective efforts of this international network in rescuing children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking, and supporting their long-term freedom.
Eniya met Rahul when she was 14.
Rahul was charming, charismatic, and most of all, very interested in Eniya. Even though he lived in a neighbouring country, the young man made a point of visiting Eniya any time he passed through her area, and they stayed in touch online while he was away.
As time passed, Rahul subtly wormed his way into Eniya’s heart, slowly distancing the diligent student from her loving family. Eniya initially scoffed at his proposal of marriage, but he persisted until she finally agreed to sneak away and cross the border to be with him.
Fortunately, our agents intervened before she made it to the human trafficker.
Once they stopped her at the border, our agents quickly saw through the lies Rahul had instructed her to tell. As she listened to our agents, the 16-year-old realised the dire fate she’d narrowly escaped. Before returning home to her worried parents, she thanked the team for rescuing her from the manipulative trafficker.
