Where We Work

Our Work in Thailand

Thailand is a major source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labor.

Thailand is a picturesque country and a popular tourist destination for more than 11 million people each year. Sadly, Thailand also has a reputation for sex tourism – Pattaya being at the top of the list, boasting the title, “The sex capital of the world” and accommodating over 5 million tourists annually. The high demand for prostitution and the fact that this industry brings in billions of dollars each year to the Thai economy has caused many government officials, politicians and police to turn a blind eye to illegal activities– making it very difficult to crack down on sex trafficking.

Unfortunately, Thailand has become a major source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labour.

Child Rescue is making a huge difference in Thailand for multiple reasons. We’re rescuing many children from the sex industry and we’re working closely with local police to bring human trafficking criminals to justice. Once children we’ve rescued enter our care, we bring them to one of our many Rescue Homes, where they’ll be safe and can grow up in a Christ-centred, loving environment. They’ll also have a chance to learn a vocation such as jewellery making, sewing, hairstyling, barista training, cooking and waitressing at our Destiny Rescue Training & Employment Centre, which will help them earn money, ending the cycle of poverty in their lives. And if they so choose, we’ll give them the opportunity to finish primary school, high school, and even go on to earn a degree at a university!

We’re also busy helping at-risk children and families through our various Prevention Programs. Children in these programs receive a proper education, vocational training from our Destiny Rescue Training & Employment Centre and, in some instances, a place to live. Plus, we’re helping many poor families become self-supportive through our numerous development initiatives. Our ultimate goal is to prevent precious kids from being forced into the human trafficking industry.
